Sara is a 2009 graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, the oldest college of Oriental Medicine in the country. Her masters degree is in both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture styles. Sara is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine. She is also a licensed massage therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has studied Reiki as well. Sara's massage training was at the Palmer Institute of Massage and Bodywork in Salem, MA.
Prior to attending graduate school, Sara received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kenyon College. She has worked with special needs adolescents with traumatic brain injuries and also as a preschool teacher. Sara is committed to bringing the holistic healing modalities of acupuncture and massage to both pediatric and adult populations. As a Division III athlete who later suffered from a ruptured disc, Sara has a personal interest in acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain management. Sara currently competes with the Cambridge Masters swim team at Harvard University and practices yoga regularly. In addition to her Masters of Acupuncture, Sara continues to pursue specialized training in the field of sports medicine acupuncture.
